Michele Sweeney Boudreau (Abrams),
is a survivalist, stemming from a nature loving, patriotic upbringing in
Central Pennsylvania. She loves the outdoors and down to earth living.
She relocated and settled in the Chicago area in 2000 but didn't leave her skills behind. In addition to being a Certified Firearms and Conceal Carry Instructor Michele highly values serving as an Emergency Responder, Executive Protection Security and in Law Enforcement.
She has served on Search and Rescue Teams, Public Preparedness Outreach and Mass Care Response. Michele has also had many deployments as a Reservist and Specialist with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. More recently Michele serves as “On Call” for County Homeland Security and Emergency Management Offices. Michele has a background in National Preparedness, Incident Command Systems, Tactical Emergency Casualty Care, Jurisdictional Threat and Infrastructure Security, Anti Terrorism and Incident Response to Bombings. Michele holds an Illinois Explosives License and has trained at New Mexico Tech EMRTC where she also earned Instructor Certification in Incident Response to Suicide Bombings. Michele is a member of ILEETA (International Law Enforcement Educators & Trainers Association), International Association of Women Police and the National Tactical Officers Association.
Michele has trained with Women's Golden Gloves Boxing Trainers and studied Wado Ryu Japanese Karate. She is also a SAG AFTRA Actress and Stunt woman for commercials, films and TV shows.
Ken brings with him thirty-three years of experience as a decorated law enforcement and security professional.
Ken holds a Master’s Degree in Public Safety Administration and has served as a Commanding Officer of the Chicago Police Department’s Criminal Enterprise Unit and as a Commanding Officer of the Gang Enforcement Division’s Gang School Safety Teams. He was also supervisor of the Office of National Drug Control Policy HIDTA Money Laundering Group. He was previously deputized as Federal Task Force Agent for the United States Drug Enforcement Administration and as a Special Federal Officer with the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Ken further brings his knowledge due to 18 years of experience from serving with the US Army and earned the Bronze Star while serving as an Aide De Camp / Protective Service Officer to the Commanding General of Engineer Forces, US Central Command during Operation Desert Shield/Storm. He is a graduate of the John F. Kennedy Special Warfare School and is certified as Anti-Terrorism instructor. He achieved further certification as a Physical Security Inspector for the United States Army and was the Supervising Member of a Physical Security Team in an eight state region.
Ken was certified as an Electronic Criminal Surveillance Officer by the Illinois State Police and serves as the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation Licensee in Charge of Embassy Security Group.

Lee retired (Deputy Chief ) after 41 years of service with the University of Chicago Police Department, 24 years US Army, active duty(combat veteran) and reserves, and recently three years in the Chicago Public Schools Office of Safety & Security. While with the Office of Safety and Security he served as CPS’ liaison to the CPD Gang Schools Safety Team. He is currently a board member of the Woodlawn Public Safety Alliance.
During the last ten years of his career with UCPD Lee directed the U of C’s contributions to patrol, investigation, gang intelligence and narcotics interdiction efforts in CPD’s 003 and 021 districts while continuing to direct and update the Department’s firearms program. In order to carry out these responsibilities he over saw the day to day activities of up to 160 officers, sergeants and lieutenants.
He was responsible for dignitary protective support provided to U.S. Secret Service, U.S. State Department Office of Diplomatic Security, U.S. Marshals, and other government entities. A graduate of the IACP’s Dignitary and Executive Protection course, Lee was detailed to a variety of assignments requiring security for visiting dignitaries too numerous to name.
As a Police Firearms Instructor and a small arms instructor for the U.S. Army National Guard he has logged over thirty years hands-on experience in training students to safely, confidently and effectively use small arms when required. As a police instructor wrote and taught one of the earliest courses on “Use of Force”.
In 2005 he was tasked with development of the Department’s Rapid Response Team, said team went from concept to deployment in seven months.
Since retirement he has performed as a volunteer instructor with the Gary, In. Police Department’s SWAT team, a concealed carry instructor and in 2019 re-certified as a law enforcement firearms instructor.
Chuck Soltys is a 35 year law enforcement veteran. He is a former municipal police officer and is a National Registry certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), and is a retired Special Agent with the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). Chuck was assigned to a variety of specialized enforcement groups as well as serving three tours of duty on a jungle narcotics interdiction team in South and Central America. He served as the Primary Firearms & Tactics Instructor for the DEA Chicago Field Division (CFD) and was the founding member and coordinator of the DEA CFD Special Response Team. Chuck is a member of the Illinois Tactical Officers Association (ITOA) and was a long time member of the Board of Directors, a member of the International Law Enforcement Educators & Trainers Association (ILEETA) Advisory Board, and a member of the National Patrol Rifle Conference (NPRC) Advisory Board. He is an internationally recognized law enforcement trainer and writer. Chuck has instructed extensively in the United States and abroad. Chuck has a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan and is a 2010 inductee into the MSU School of Criminal Justice Wall of Fame.
